Two weeks ago I saw this exhibition — “Infinite Variety: Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts” — at the Park Avenue Armory, and it was amazing. I never imagined a quilt show (put on by the Folk Art Museum!) could be quite like this. They way the quilts were hung, the lighting, and the actual pieces themselves were all so cool. Also, all those beautiful patterns? Basically just some glyphs waiting to be vectorized. There were many old ladies there, I’m not going to lie, but this exhibition was an awesome way to take traditional craft and exhibit it in a cool, contemporary way.
